This is Melissa preparing our evening bear alarm. Our bedroom window looked out over the trashcans and we were determined to see a bear soooo every night we'd set out cans (and some food...shhh, we know you shouldn't feed the bears), which would wake us up upon the bears arrival. Of course it was always too dark to see soooo one night Melissa, Melanie and I went out to camp out in the car. We were damn lucky because we weren't in that car for more than 5 minutes before mama bear and her two babies walked up to the trash cans. We stayed very still (of course) and they never caught on! It was quite an adventure.
